Description

Now that she has her freedom, she’s not giving it up.

Dragon shifter Keelin Petronilla spent centuries in forced hibernation dreaming of one thing: freedom. Now she’s living life on her terms—she’s ditched her clan for an unruly wolf pack, she tends bar for a half-demon, and she’s loving it…until a powerful supernatural being targets her. She intends to handle the mysterious attacks on her own…without the help of dragon Alpha Bran Devlin. Sure, he’s sexy in that hot, scowling possessive way, but Keelin wants to live her own life in her own way.

Now that he’s found his mate, he’s not letting her go.

Former black ops agent Bran Devlin is a born dragon Alpha and leader of a fierce clan. Getting mated was never part of his plan—until a feisty dragon princess gets under his skin in a big way. The hell of it is, she doesn’t want a mate; she just wants to have a good time. He plays along, but when a dark and powerful being marks her for death, he’s determined to stay by her side in spite of her protests. Now that he’s found his mate, he means to keep her safe no matter what the cost…even if he has to risk it all.

Oh my dragon shifter! I love, love, love this series and it just keeps getting better and better. I normally don’t like a series where there are that many paranormal creatures thrown into the mix because I get all confused but to my surprise on this particular series I actually don’t mind! Katie knows how to craft her paranormal world and how to keep it straightforward and engaging. So, Keelin Petronilla is the sister of Drake Petronilla, whom we met in Taste of Darkness, Book Two in the series. Their parents became super protective of her because of what happened to Drake a millennia ago, thus as soon as she found independence she decided she would never, ever give it up, at least not too easily. Enter confident and possessive Alpha Dragon shifter Bran Devlin. He’s decided he wants to mate Keelin and will not take NO for an answer. So much for decision making because it seems no one will be getting what they want! Keelin may seem like a petulant child at the beginning but the fact is she only didn’t want to be tied down or bossed around. She wanted to be her own person and if mated she wanted a partner, not a person that would exercise control over her. Aware of Keelin’s fears, Bran realizes that it will take a lot of patience and time to win her heart if he truly wants to become her mate, time that they may not have because danger lurks everywhere and she’s become its target. That’s another point for Reus. She knows how to keep me turning the pages by injecting that healthy dose of mystery in each of her stories. I will patiently wait for the next book, which I really, really hope is Bo and Nyx's, and I don’t even like demons, ha!

Dragon shifter Keelin Petronilla spent centuries in hibernation dreaming of one thing: freedom. Now she’s living on her terms away from her clan in Biloxi and tending bar for a half-demon, and loving every minute of it. When a dangerous being has it out for her she intends to handle it on her own and NOT with the help of a annoying dragon Alpha Bran Devlin. He's sexy and very possessive but Keelin wants to live her own life, her own way...with out help or a mate. Bran knows what he wants and he wants Keelin. Now he just has to convince her he's what she wants and needs and that he has no plans of putting her in a box but that doesn't mean he won't protect her with everything he possesses. I loved everything about Bran and he is one hot alpha male and oh so yummy!! Keelin is a very strong female, sweet and out to help anyone she can. It was so nice to see that both the lead PN characters had some strong insecurities that normal people often do. Both being different then the norm for their dragon species. There was hot sex and great suspense and action. I feel that it could be read as a stand alone book, but more enjoyable read as a series.
